Reducing The Risk of Homelessness Amongst Eastern European Women Project

Ross-shire, Caithness &Sutherland & Lochaber Women’s Aid have launched a new project funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The new project aims to raise awareness amongst the Eastern European community of services available and to provide support within this community to help combat homelessness as a result of domestic abuse. The project seeks to ensure women are better supported to sustain tenancies and cope with the practical and emotional issues of being affected by domestic abuse.

Women At War

A group of our service users took part in a Women at War project, Women at War is a collaborative community engagement project between Archaeology Scotland and Ross-shire Women's Aid. The project focused on researching and recording HMS Owl, (now known as Fearn Airfield) and the role of the Women's Royal Naval Service who where based here from 1942. Coercive Control Seminar

We are holding a seminar entitled “Coercive Control & the Leaving Process – Understanding Domestic Abuse”. This will take place on Thursday 3rd April in Inshes Church, Inverness from 10.00am until 1.00pm. Please note that registration is from 9.30am. Tea, coffee and pastries will be available. We are delighted that the seminar will be facilitated by Nel Whiting from Scottish Women’s Aid.

International Women's Day – Skye

On Saturday 8th March we will be holding an event to celebrate International Women’s Day and women’s contribution to life on Isle of Skye. Between 2.00 – 4.30pm at Breakish Hall we will have story teller, Lizzie MacDougall, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and music. Come along and share your stories of inspiration women of Skye.
