Annual General Meeting 2009-2010

15 December 2010

Ross-shire Women’s Aid recently held their Annual General Meeting at the Victoria Suite in Dingwall.

Thos who attended heard from Heather Williams about the work of the organisation in the last year as well as the plans for the future.  The annual report is attached here RSWA_Annual_Report_2010

At this event the 3 Wishes Project was also launched which allowed the women, children and young people who use our services to say what they would like to change if they were able to.  These wishes included:

  • Wish mum had never met him
  • That dad wasn’t horrible to mum
  • For a trampoline and big garden
  • ( concerning child contact ) I wish that Domestic Abuse is taken into  account by Sheriffs and women don’t have to come into contact with their abuser.
  • I wish I had recognised his behaviour as abuse
  • That there is recognition by the Legal System of all the forms of Domestic Abuse and that it isn’t only Physical
  • No abused person should have to pay financially for their safety or freedom !!!

This included a presentation developed by one of the young people supported by the service.
