Mothering in the context of Domestic Abuse Seminar

16 November 2015

On Tuesday 8th December we will be holding a Seminar – Mothering in the context of Domestic Abuse. This will take place at Westend Community Centre, Alness from 10.00am – 1.00pm. Registration will be from 9.30am where, tea, coffee and pastries will be available.

We are delighted that the seminar will be facilitated by Marsha Scott from Scottish Women’s Aid.

Outcomes for the Seminar

  • Research into children’s experiences of domestic abuse has consistently emphasized the importance of providing support to the non-abusive parent (usually the mother) for effective child protection
  • What exactly does this involve and why does it seem to be so difficult to achieve?
  • Why does the perpetrator of domestic abuse often become ‘invisible’ in child protection procedures?

Dr. Marsha Scott will explore these issues and explore how new paradigms for domestic abuse in Scotland change how we think about and improve our strategies for supporting mothers, young people, and children in the contact of domestic abuse.

If you would like to attend our Seminar or would like more information then please contact Claire on 01349 862689 or email info@rosswa.co.uk.

Please note there will be a non attendance charge of £30.
